Hunter's Point a Success!
The Gubbio Project is grateful after a great run of Hunter's Point, a theater piece turned fundraiser and community-building event. Hunter's Point is a play about a woman struggling with issues of homelessness and mental health in the Tenderloin, family, and our collective responsibility. Almost 800 people came to see the show, which spanned over 7 nights and 3 weekends. One of the highlights for Gubbio staff was seeing such a diverse cross-section of the Bay Area attend the play. Students, SRO residents, theater people, church people, service providers, and Gubbio supporters and a couple of Gubbio guests got a chance to sit and experience the show together. The overall response was positive and, as with anything that hits a truth, the play brought up more questions than it answered. Special thanks to director, Christine, playwright, Liz, and the wonderful cast and crew. Also, many thanks to St. Boniface Church Staff and Leadership Team for their flexibility and support. We are proud to be a part of this dynamic and welcoming community! |

Team Gubbio volunteers for St. Anthony 60th
 | | From Left: Carlos, Peg, Laura, Emma, and Jean |
Five members of the regular Gubbio team assembled Saturday September 24th to be a part of the 60th anniversary celebration for St. Anthony Foundation. Gubbio volunteers were part of the volunteer team which brought meals to seniors and people with disabilities. Although it was a brisk day, people were in great spirits. Almost 12,000 barbeque chicken meals were served! Congratulations to our partner and Franciscan sister organization, SAF!
